FLOW consists of Ideas, Community, and Action. Ideas provide
vision and direction, a way of understanding the world, a foundation
for community, and a guide to action. Community provides the peer
network and camaraderie to support exploration and collaboration. Our
ACTION section provides guidance for those paths.
Many of you may want to engage in FLOW Projects
as you manifest your liberated entrepreneurial spirit. We encourage you to launch new “for
benefit” initiatives that may either be “for profit” or “not
for profit” (John Mackey: “Successful “for profit” and “not
for profit” organizations share 98% of the same DNA”). Post
your project, or an idea for a project here. Develop, contribute
to, critique, and otherwise advance the various projects here.
FLOW is all about bridging cultural chasms. One of the chasms
we seek to bridge is the one that sometimes exists between the desire
to do good, on the one hand, and the impulse to be frank, on the other. To
be blunt, all too often those who aspire to make the world a better place
are often so nice that they praise everything. But excellence is
only achieved by means of honest assessments. Thus be prepared
to have your ideas challenged again and again and again, and be grateful
for each challenge as the means by which a project is given the strength
to stand on its own.
In addition to FLOW Projects, we encourage
FLOW Members to hold events, ranging from informal gatherings in homes,
coffee shops, or bars, to large public conferences, concerts, and gatherings. The Events
section allows you to suggest, plan, organize, announce, and report on
events of all types. We will also post FLOW-produced events here.
Again, we encourage civil, frank feedback.
